It’s Michael Sachs, Premier Pediatrics Beverly Hills. We’ve been in this office for seven years but have been in practice for – today’s the 17th, isn’t it? – exactly 29 years ago today.
Being able to help families with their kids, with the whole family dynamic, and watch them grow is absolutely the best feeling in the world.
We’ve been with PCC for five years, and it’s been five great years. I heard about PCC probably about 25 years ago and we first looked at their practice management system when we were looking into getting our very first computer system and we made the mistake of not going with them at the time and it took 20 plus years, but finally made the right decision.
It’s been – our overall experience with PCC has been nothing but positive. The people there have been great, the support staff, every department. And we love using the EHR, the practice management system works great for our front office. They update it regularly and they make it as easy as possible for a pediatrician to use an electronic medical records system. And they really have the pediatrician’s interest in mind with all the development that they do.
The person in the PCC office who helped us along with months of implementation had obviously been there a long time, knew exactly what she was doing. And then the person that came to the office when we first started using the practice management system - she’d been with them over 20 years at the time. She told me she had actually helped write some of the computer code. So she knew every aspect of the program, was able to help us with all the questions – both in the office and then for the months afterwards until we were, at that point, pretty comfortable, without having to ask all the new client questions.
About six months after we started with PCC, we were not keeping up well with our billing. We didn’t realize it at the time, and we got a call from PCC saying, ‘Your accounts receivable is starting to rise. We need to help you do something about this.’ And they did. They put us in touch with a billing company that was able to give us some consultation. We were able to hire a new biller and we got things under control. And without that phone call from them, I don’t know how much longer it would have gone on.
The PCC software is pediatric-focused. They’re not trying to be all things to all specialties. They design what they do specifically for a pediatric office.
The support that PCC offers – they’re well known for offering the best support in the industry. When you call, you rarely get a recording – you get a live person. Almost always, they’re able to help you right away. If it’s something that requires somebody more specialized, they escalate it to the right people. When I send an email, sometimes half an hour or an hour later, I’m already getting an email response saying, ‘We fixed it – here’s what you need to do.’ Or, ‘We’re sending it on to the people that will help you out.’ So, it’s quick, it’s responsive, and it’s right.
PCC as a company doesn’t just give you software but they give you practice management advice as well. So they’ve helped our office get better. Not just using the practice management system, not just using the EHR, but they’ve actually helped our office function better.
PCC, as a company, they support independent pediatricians. They want pediatricians to thrive. It’s good for the practice of medicine, it’s good for the office, it’s good for PCC. So, it’s really a win-win when they help independent practices do the best job they can.
Going to a PCC User Conference, it’s like attending a family reunion. So, the first time you go, you’re meeting people you might have met online through the PCCTalk listserv. Then, after you go a couple of times, you recognize the same people over and over again and say, ‘Hey, how you doing?’ It’s just a very strong, positive feeling throughout the whole time. And the educational sessions, both on using the practice management system, using the EHR, and general practice management for the office – they have great speakers. And you come back from that and you have information to give your office that’s going to make your office run better.
When you sign up with PCC, you’re getting what you pay for. When you sign up with another company that might charge you less, you’re getting what you pay for, which is going to be less than what PCC offers. Because PCC gives you more than just the software – they make your office run better, they help your collections, and you become part of what is known, and really is a feeling of, the PCC family.
[responding to interviewer commenting, ‘It’s so amazing…’ ] I’m only saying it cause it’s true… it really is, yeah.
