How PCC's pediatric focus shines in everything we do, from our customer support to our approach in EHR software development.
Michael Sachs:
The PCC software is pediatric-focused. They're not trying to be all things to all specialties. They designed what they do specifically for a pediatric office.
Our overall experience with PCC has been nothing but positive. The people there have been great. The Support staff, every department, and we love using EHR. The practice management system works great for our front office. They update it regularly, and they make it as easy as possible for a pediatrician to use an electronic medical record system. And they really have the pediatrician's interests in mind with all the development that they do.
PCC, as a company, they support it. Independent pediatricians, they want pediatricians to thrive. It's good for the practice of medicine, good for the office. It's good for PCC, so it's really a win-win when they help independent practices do the best job they can.
Irma Tackie:
One of the things I really love is being able to have my forms inside PCC and then being able to auto-populate things like the dates on which vaccines are given. So, I'm very lazy about that. When the kids come in with their school forms and it has a whole bunch of boxes. I usually, in the past, I would simply write, "Please refer to short record," but with PCC EHR, the way we have it set up, it prints out each one of the dates. And so when I do the physicals, I'm simply able to print it, get that taken care of, and then we're done.
Tanya Altmann:
I think when you're looking to choose a pediatric EHR, having one that really focuses on pediatrics is important. Because when you look at a lot of other electronic health records that focus on adults and kids and specialists, you really don't have the same capabilities: the vaccine forecasting, the way to schedule patients, the way a pediatrician does because pediatrics is different. We do things very uniquely, and so I feel that having PCC, a pediatric-specific EHR, has really helped me start my practice, develop my practice, and grow my practice to take care of kids since that's what we do as pediatricians.
Angela Beals:
Well, I have worked in other offices who used different EHR systems, but none of them were pediatric-specific. A pediatric-specific EHR system is great. PCC's comes with vaccine forecasting, so when patient's parents are curious as to what they're going to be needing, you can just log into the system and it'll tell you what they're due for, and what they will be upcoming. It's equipped with the proper growth charts. So when babies come in and children, and we're plotting their growth from year-to-year, it's pediatric-specific, so it's their growth chart and we can see how they're growing and make sure that they're growing properly.
Richard Feuille:
Because they have done their best to make it as easy as possible, EHRs are notoriously not doctor friendly. And, while nobody at this point is perfect, they're the closest that we found. And, more importantly, they are constantly working to make life easier for us and taking suggestions and implementing them on a regular basis.
PCC treats their pediatricians... They try to treat us like family. When they see us at conferences or whatever, it's always a friendly greeting and they're always listening. Even at a conference when we approach them, they're always taking notes and listening.
